Leavenworth!

This past weekend, we joined our GREAT friends Brian&Alyssa in Leavenworth, Washington to celebrate fall... go listen to some polka music... eat some sausage... and camp in the chilly weather:) We hiked, drank some Oktoberfest, & enjoyed our time together:) Jason and Brian took a hike up to some Alpine Lakes above Leavenworth...what a beautiful sight... God is AMAZING!:)

I missed the opp for taking a photo of this cool red dirt area... I was a little side-tracked looking at all the bike skids...wondering how the heck they got down there!!! and how the jumped so far! this was getting closer to the river:) There were nut trees dropping HUGE green fruit (hard/heavy) ALL over and there were people hunting goats! No one was on the trail!, which made it nice & quiet, but then the sound of heavy things falling all around you, rustling somethings in bushes, and gunshots...made it a little freaky at times:) Not saying it wasn't a BLAST!:) haha:)

The B's

This is the last of The Traveler triad... we've been waiting for it since last fall! Jason loves to read to me...what a blessing! I'm not much for reading on my own:)

What a long time coming!!!:) Our gracious papa arranged this trip for us as a "2nd honeymoon" last year:) When people asked when our next va-ca was...in February, I'd say..."September:)" THEN all of a sudden there it was...and there we went:)

Kauai was our island choice for a lot of reasons!!... but the hiking was definitely the cream:) My dad also gave us the great gift of some hiking Kauai books to take along to make it all make more sense when we were there. Kauai's island has a main Hwy (50-56) that skirts around the entire thing...besides the NW aspect where the NaPali coastline cuts it off (where Jurassic Park was filmed:) We did some large day hikes around the NaPali coast (NW) and Waimea Canyon(SW), and spent the other days walking on the beach of lying out by the pool... it was chill/beautiful/and much needed:)

Our highlight-places were the above hikes, Alli Kai, Ke'e Beach (near our hike), Hanalei Bay-Area, The Smith Family Luau, and the BrickOvenPizza in Kalahea (after the canyon hike):)

Jason is such a sweet/amazing husband:)! it was SO nice to get away w/ him...sleep in...and know we didn't have to leave each other for the day:) Thank you Lord for making this beautiful world and blessing us w/ someone to share the love with:)

Our 1st Anniversary!

This past August 2nd, we celebrated our big 1! All we can do is praise God for his wisdom and AMAZINGNESS of creating marriage and all the blessings that come from that! We have an even deeper love for our Lord!!
After meeting each other, we began to understand and feel God's love on a different level:) This has helped us understand Him more! He is ALWAYS placing us in a state of awe... ALWAYS reminding us of His "BIG picture"... ALWAYS teaching us the ways of Wisdom and all She entails:)
Since Jason was a little boy, his AMAZING mother prayed for his future wife:)... we have felt the harvest of that! This, alone, is even a great encouragement to pray for our brother's future wife:)...pray for our single friends that God would be preparing their other half RIGHT NOW in the ways of Truth and Excellence:)
We've been having SO much fun being married...and not as tired, which is REALLY nice:) For our anniversary, we took a trip down to Arizona to feel the sunshine! swim! and drive to the GrandCanyon! Arizona has a different beauty about it... and the sunsets were breathtaking! We watched the sun set down the GrandCanyon... the colors changed...and God gave us a bright red sunset! There was a fire burning across the canyon that also turned red when it was black out! Thanks everyone for the encouragement & love! J&T

Jason & Shotgun in the water...

This weekend we took the trip up to TL to spend some time w/ ArtTim... a few hours w/ Madre, and a lot of time w/ Shotgun (our sister black lab):) The drive up there was beautiful as always. We showed up around 1 and took a walk down to the river! SG is SUCH a beautiful lab... and seeing she's not even 2 yet, it's SOoo fun/cute seeing her get used to different environments and pushing her comfort limits:) She was so hesistant to get in the deep water!...So Jason...being the amazing leader he is... went into the deep REALLY chilly river himself... bribing her w/ his love and presence! She inched her way in, but looked FREAKED....Sooo...being the lovingly pushy type I sometimes am... I pulled her in:) She LOVED it and jumped over to J and ran out onto the rocks...jumping EVERYWHERE!!! (including ALL over my cute sandles:) She then got REALLY brave and looked like she was going to fly down the river w/ the sticks we tried to bribe her w/ earlier:)... she knew better, though:)
We found Shotgun a few years ago for Madre, and it's not only fun to watch her grow, but also realize our teaching styles:) I admire Jason more and more each moment... realizing that he IS my hero who takes perfect care of me.
